Plastic Welding Machinery & Converting...to the future

FSA 024 Film Welding Machine

The FSA 024 Film Welding Machine, for welding film protection onto cassette covers and similar items, slots easily into the proven Widmann range of heat welding machines. Minimum maintenance costs, 20 to 25
operating cycles per minute and an appropriate range
of ancillary equipment are just some of the features which provide the FSA 024 machine with its excellent economic performance.

Machine configuration:
Distortion-free base-frame made of strong, square-section, tubular steel; electrical and electronic components arranged to provide ease of supervision and access in a separate switchgear cabinet. All moving parts are designed to minimize maintenance costs. The compressed air treatment process takes place in the vicinity of the machine. The oil is filtered from the spent air before if is released into the atmosphere.

Technical configuration of major sub-assemblies:
1. Underframe with stepped feed unit: Accommodates 21 cassettes on two chain conveyors, driven by an infinitely variable worm gear motor through a step ratio gearbox.
2. Gantry with film feed and welding system: Pneumatic film unwinder with jockey arm, HSS cross-cutter, gripperwith linear drive for positioning the length cut from the web in the welding unit. Clamp for accurate location; coated welding head.

Operating sequence:
The cassette covers are placed in the holders by hand and transport is then automatic.
Twin rubber-covered rollers, driven pneumatically, unwind the film from the roll and lay it out on a flat table. Grippers at the sides take hold of the film before the cross-cutter cuts off the required length. The linear drive moves the grippers and the filmto the welding position, A water-cooled clamp at the front holds the film in the correct position
until welding is finished and, at the same time, prevents the film sticking to the welding head. Accessories available:
1. Water tank with coolant pump:
A self-contained cooling system, with corrosion-inhibiting agent, is preferable to a continuous-flow system permanently connected to a water main,
2. Extra welding unit: For two cross weld seams, each approximately 15 mm long, pneumatically operated, mounted directly after the main welding unit.
3. Set of holders: Suitable for cassettes of a different size.

TA-R5 Index Machine

Standard Index Sets - collated automatically.
The Index Machine TA-R5 by Widmann stands for high production rates and flexible manufacturing of standard index sets. This machine allows the efficient production of complete collated index sets out of PP, PVC, card and paper. The material is fed from roll into the machine. The number of sheets per
set can be chosen individually. On top of this, various formats with different types of punched holes can be produced by minor modifications. The
operator is supported by
the latest control technology, innovative drive concepts and well thought-out manufacturing processes enabling easy and smooth running of the machine. The possibility to
connect a packing machine to the Index Maker allows a manufacturing process from the material roll to the ready packed product.

Ultrasonic Welding Press model SPU 350

Versatile low volume production of ultrasonically tear-sealed blister packs or flat sheet products in PP, PE, PET and PVC

The Widmann Ultrasonic Welding Press model SPU 350 reliably welds with a high degree of flexibility, vacuum formed blister packs for low volume output or research and development projects. Stand alone single or twin sliding fray system guarantees quick and accurate positioning of the blisters in the mounting jig during low to medium output production. Integration into production ines very high volumes can be achieved at a very high degree of accuracy whilst maintaining a first quality product. The unit will also process reel fed flat film if so required.

The ultrasonic welding technology of the Widmann Welding Press SPU 350 opens up new packaging technology. A welding fable (patented) made up of two or more flat ultrasonic sonotrodes makes it possible to weld and tear-seal in one operation using a variety of materials previously not associated with this type of packaging.Using ultrasonic ensures a clean flat weld and none of the problems associated with Thermal and HF welding. The tools are always cold. The economical process is guaranteed due to the table (sonotrode) always remains the same. Only welding tools to be changed quickly and cost effectively. A quick tool change system is incorporated in the press.
By using ultrasonic welding you eliminate any heating up times, there is no need to carry out a pre-production run for set up purposes or between stoppages therefore minimizing any materia wastage. The ultrasonic parameters are reproduced time after time and remain constant avoiding additional adjustments. The Widmann ultrasonic solution combines precision with short set-up times with cost effective production and minimal waste.

FSM 112 Film Welding Machine

The film welding machine FSM 112 continues the approved tradition of the innovative and reliable Widmann welding machines.
The sealing of pre-cut film blanks on ring binder covers or letter files, production of windows with pre-prinfed paper inserts or pockets, outside and inside. The extremely user-friendly FSM 112 solves your production tasks efficiently and fast.

Besides, the design of the FSM 112 is amazingly simple:

  • stacking unit with transfer and placing unit for transport of the ring binder covers to a transport belt system
  • transport belt system for separated ring book covers
  • sheet feeder with transfer and placing unit for A4 or A5 inlays (optional) to separate single paper sheets from a stack and to position them on the front side of the ring binder cover
  • film unwinding and cutting unit with transfer . and placing unit for the exact positioning of
the film blanks on the ring binder cover or letter file
  • thermal contact welding unit

The fast and economical film welding machine for precise automatic production of windows and pockets on ring binder covers and letter files.

By use of modular expansion the FSM 112 can be adapted to your production requirements perfectly:

  • label holders with paper insert
  • rectangular inside pocket
  • formed inside pocket
  • logo stamping
  • label dispenser

Index Machine RA 6-130

For your automatic production of complete single or multicoloured tab reinforced index sets from paper or manila. Wtih this series of Index Machines it is possible to process up to 10 different colours per index set.

The machines are fed from roll or from single sheet. A combination of both possibilities is offered as an additional option. Material from roll, blank or pre-printed sheets may be used. The number of index sheets per set can be choosen individually. On top of this, various formats with different kinds of punched holes can be manufactured by making minor modifications on the machine. The integration of a tab printing station allows the individual hotstamping of numerical and alphabetical characters or individual imprints on the paper web or on the Mylar® reinforcing strip inside or outside.

Adding a multicolour tab reinforcing station for up to 10 different colours to the machine enables the flexible production of coloured index sets. The colour sequences of the tabs is free programmable and colours can be combined individually, according to customers' requirements.

  • 10 Colour station
  • Tab reinforcing station
  • Paper web & sheet fed processing
  • Single hole punch reinforcing
  • Punching tools for all filing systems
  • Customized printing or hotstamping
  • 110 Sheets per minute
  • Servo-controlled transport system
